"Magic Tree House Showtime With Shakespeare" - A New Hip Hop Musical To Come To NJPAC

(NEWARK, NJ) -- "Magic Tree Business firm: Offset with Shakespeare," a new hip hop take a chance for young audiences, embarks on a 13-city tour get-go March 11 in Las Vegas and final on May 31 at New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC).

"Magic Tree House: Starting time with Shakespeare," directed by Janeece Freeman Clark, features music and additional lyrics by Randy Courts and book and lyrics by Jenny Laird and Will Osborne, who is the married man of Mary Pope Osborne and a longtime collaborator on stage versions of her work. "An adaptation of 'Phase Fright' is a great choice," said Will Osborne, who noted that Shakespeare's rhymes lend themselves naturally to a hip hop treatment.
